Introducing Sarah
It is my sincere honor and pleasure to introduce myself as Imagery’s Writer in Residence. Many of you may know me as a longtime Imagery collaborator and veteran of the SKETCH series, where I had the pleasure of participating in the creation and performance of boundary-pushing choreography from some of the foremost voices in contemporary ballet. I am excited to take on this new platform as I begin to open myself to new intersections with dance beyond the stage.

As much as she longs to return to live performance, Seiwert is using SKETCH to reframe the current moment as one of opportunity. "I can't give you dance as it was, but I can give you something else," she says. "There's no easy way through this, but the art will be there on the other side."
Imagery announces SKETCH FILMS : RED THREAD
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Company’s SKETCH series. In celebration of this milestone, and in response to the changing art landscape due to COVID-19, we will produce four documentary dance films, entitled SKETCH FILMS: Red Thread - Four Films by Four SKETCH Alumni Choreographers.
Coronavirus forces Sacramento Ballet to cancel season, artistic director laid off
The Sacramento Bee: Amy Seiwert, who first joined the Sacramento Ballet as a dancer in 1991, will be departing from her role as artistic director. Without ticket revenue, Sacramento Ballet could not continue to employ Seiwert despite its best efforts, according to the release.
Lessons learned from my first year as Artistic Fellow
It’s official - I’ve completed my first year as Imagery’s Artistic Fellow. This year has been one of the most rewarding, albeit challenging, years of my professional life, and with so much to digest it’s hard to put these thoughts on paper. The Fellowship is focused on three main components - arts administration, artistic leadership, and choreographic development - and I can proudly say that in all three aspects I’ve learned a lot already.

Imagery first contemporary ballet company in SF to provide Audio Description at Show
On July 19th SKETCH 9 will feature a Live Audio Description and Haptic Access Tour by Gravity Access Services for visually impaired audience members. Imagery is the first contemporary ballet company in the Bay Area to offer this service.
